　　(星島日報報道)一旦爆發流感或其他大災難時，不是每個病人都會獲救，一些人必須放棄救治。美國著名大學醫療團體、軍事和政府機構人員共同擬定了一份「殘酷名單」，那些太年老、嚴重受創或燒傷，以及極度癡呆的人可以不予救治。

　　這份名單旨在發生流感或其他廣泛大災難時，讓醫院辦事有所遵循，在資源緊絀時，醫生、護士、藥物、氧氣等資源都能按既定客觀標準運用。

　　為了準備應付這樣嚴峻的情況，醫院必須委派一支小組執行「上帝般」的工作，決定誰獲得或不獲得救生護理。那些死亡機會最高，命不長久的人就比較不幸，但推薦名單卻很具體，例如訂明年逾八十、傷重難瘉，或嚴重癡呆的人都會遭放棄。

生法專家戈斯廷指出，這份名單可能違反年齡和殘疾歧視法，影響所及，那些患了長期疾患或殘障的窮弱社群都受犧牲，引起很大的道德爭議。

Just like, why women or children need to be saved first? Even all people are health and young, Superman and God can't/won't save them all and some people would die anyways ga la. There need to be a priority list anyways. The reality is cruel and sad, what can we do?!

Actually, there is Public Health Care in the US, but not like Canada, not everyone can be qualified.

For age over 65, I think it's called Medic-Care
For low/no income, it's called BasicHealth (For WA)
