New Dell Vostro 1310 - 13.3" starting at $449 (XP or Vista)

Ya...

Seems like Dell's IdeaStorm program really works, many people asks for more 13.3" notebooks. Here we are, the new Vostro 1310 finally arrived in Canada.

As with all Vostro models, you get what you pick. No trialware, no bloarware. You get 30 days to play around with it for full refund (include shipping). It's in black tho, and made by Asus (possibly). While I am not too happy with the material quality used on my Vostro 1400, but for the price, I am not going to complain.

Dell's introductory price - $449 (free shipping). You get:

Intel Celeron M M540 (1.86GHz, 1M L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)
Windows XP Home Edition or Windows Vista Home Basic
13.3 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen XGA LCD Display w/TrueLife™
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM
160G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
8X DVD+/-RW with double-layer DVD+/-R write capability, Data Only
IntelJ Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Wi-Fi Mini Card
High Definition Audio 2.0
1 Year Basic Limited Warranty plus 1 Year Mail-in Service
58 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

Feel free to upgrade the battery and video card.

Very sweet deal here!!

I know it's ugly... but it's a practical machine.

But Celeron M M540, is that a very slow processor?

TOP

It's a 1.6Ghz CPU. It's not going to be blazing fast compare to the Core 2, but it's enough to go online, check email, and office.

Performance wise, it should be fine with XP.
