need digital photographers' advice

bought an entry level dslr, its a sony a200k.

however, its doesn't operate as simple as my old dummy dc. i mean, using the old dummy dc can simply "look" at the lcd screen and press shoot.

with the sony a200, i "need to bring my eye" really close to the view finder, then press shoot. i mean the lcd screen displays nothing.

i read through the instruction menu, just couldn't find it.
if anyone know how to setup the sony's lcd display so that i don't have to "bring my eye" to the view finder, please tell me.

I don't think A200 has live view. Do you still have the receipt?

"live view"

ammm.. btw don't you think it's kinda odd to hold out a kinda bulky DSLR to take pictures? I really prefer a viewfinder.

  So good .. I am jealous ..

I am the other way ..  when using DC ..  I dont really know how to use it ..  always try to find the "HOLE" to look into ..

I think most sony cameras hv live view? but not sure if u can focus, or select focus point from the live view ..

Forget about live view ..  you are using SLR ..

a good salesman  would be very happy to take back the DSLR and suggest you
