I guess spreading knowledge and allowing public understanding and awareness is the first step in changing these situations. The OP's intention is probably wishing that our very own Canadian government will be more responsible to their citizen abroad. Public awareness can help pressure the gov't to exercise fairer treatment when it comes to extentuating circumstances in regards to visible minorities... It's more than worth 1 post IMO.

I didn't read .. but I guess Canadian passport is pretty good ..

Especially now ..  when stu-pid american scare to let people know they are american ..

No matter going to US ..  asia ..  ( japan etc )  European ..   I found when showing Canadian passport ...  good service wor ..  PLUS fast for tax claiming ..  (compare with HK passport .. china ci or whatever TW  use .. )

They see BNO and REAL british passport differently ...  

When I go travel with my mom and brother ..  I hold Canadian passport ..  my mom holds BNO ..  my brother hold Bristish Passport ..  usually ... my mom will take the longest time going though custom ..

The only place ..  Canadian passport is near useless .. is in CANADA!!!  those Canadian custom ..  will try to TAX everything from u ..  and those airport staffs .. they wont give you any service .. as you are just "ANOTHER" Canadian ..

Thats why I love Vancouver so much, where white people argue with on you:
1. Which restaurant serves the best Peking Duck, or
2. What is the best proportion of ginger/green onion to be used in a perfect dish of steamed rockfish, or
3. Kung Hei Fat Choi is not as good as San Tai Gin Hong, ...
And I hate to say that, many times they are right!
