I went there on last tuesday with some friends for dinner. When the drinks come, we found out they make a mistake on our order, for hot drink, they came as cold, and for the extra large drink, they came as regular. when we tell the waitress that she made a mistake on our orders, she starts giving us a bad look and walk away. then later, my friend ordered a mini hot pot and it came without a spoon but a scoop. so my friend asked another waitress for a spoon, and the waitress responds, "isn't there a spoon on the tray!?". my friend is so pissed already at that time, and when we finally have all our drinks and meals ready on the table, another waitress came and pulled away that ordering list that stick on the table with some speed and give us another bad face. finally, we called the manager over and tell him to whole story of what happened. Manager replied as he will take care of this matter and later another waitress which didn't serve us before came and said all the sorry and blah blah blah, and those bad faces waitress are all disappeared somehow. so next time, i will rather pick some other places other than 生活小品.....enough of this crap.
Yes. I totally agree with you, their service sucks. They expect everyone to speak Mandarin, and when you order in English, they give you this look, like you're stupid for something. Hey, is it my fault that my Mandarin is not good enough to order? or is it their problem that they hire waitresses that don't speak English.. I mean after all, I am living in Canada. I'm totally surprise that the restaurant actually lasted this long with this kind of attitude and service. I don't recommend anyone who speaks English going there. You'll be discriminated! By the way, I forgot to mention that I'm also Chinese.

actually even worse than the first post...
the servers aren't experienced at all, they don't know HOW to serve the customers
for example, if we ask for more bowl, they would actually get ONE for us
we kept asking them again and again
they are missing something... or not even using their brains
other than the service, the food in there is a problem as well
one of the other posts mentioned that the price was for kids
but actually, the price at there is rather expensive compared to other places, such as 'well tea' and 'castle pearl'
i remembered last time i ordered this 'milk' hot pot
it came with NOTHING in it, TOTALLY NOTHING
the pot itself was big, but inside there were just a few chopped celeries and a few "slices" of ham
you can actually count the pieces in the bowl
and it costed $9 for that thing
SUCH A RIP OFF!!
SO if you are going to there next time, remember NOT to order the milk hot pot!!!
