Pattullo Bridge closed nights and weekends for repaving

The closures, which started Sunday, will shut the bridge southeast of Vancouver from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday to Thursday, and from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, until the work is finished.

No date has been set for the completion of the work, which involves removing old asphalt that contains asbestos from the bridge deck, but it is expected to take two or three weeks, according to TransLink.

A replacement for the 72-year-old bridge is scheduled to be completed by 2019.

I guess it is already considered very quick according to Canadian standard.

Well, people in Surrey will suffer the bad traffic for the coming weeks. I am glad that I don't have to cross bridges daily.

Golden Ear Bridge? I didn't know there is such a bridge. Where does it connect? Maple Ridge and Surrey?

Not just people in Surrey but around Surrey, and those who usually use the alternate routes. Our bridges are so limited. When one goes down, everyone else got affected.
