My first part of the flight from Vancouver to Seattle flight got canceled by Air Canada due to a very light morning snow last Saturaday. So I got a redirected flight to some where else and never gets to where I wanted to go. I lost 4 nights hotel booking and my return trip flight's air fair. I can't find anything from air canada's official website about complaint, and I have gone thru many forum also suggested Air Canada doesn't care. I wonder is any LYK experinced the treatment by Air Canada or have any similar unfortunate situation happened to them or close to them? How does one resolve this in the end?
1) Did Air Canada try to help you successfully? I got to wait standby for 6 hours and standby for two flight before I got the option to go Seattle then Las Vegas. The Counter people was polite and all, but no actual help proved.
2) Where can I complaint and ask for compensation of the air fair differences and hotel?
3) Does anyone know where can I go held Air Canada accountable?
To all, never fly air Canada if you have a choice and go direct flight and don't pick the morning flight.
I tried to file a complain with them too... got a so-called apology letter... and never got my refund... I swear i won't take Air Canada in my life again~~
I make alot of corporate bookings for the guys at my office. the best way to do it is... when your flight gets cancel, don't ask for a credit. ask for a full refund on the spot because it was their call. never ask for credit... cus it expires in a year & non transferable. nor try to get compensated... you will never get it. i remember once, they cancelled this flight... but the guy cannot afford to stay over night...so had to rent a car to drive all the way back to vancouver. i help me write letter & everything to complain & get compensated for the rental car. but all you get is an appology letter & at the most some aeropoints.
